It is not important to find a solution based on the causes. Trying each of the primary fixes will resolve this Hisense TV problem sooner. So, delve into the solutions to proceed further.

    Restart Hisense TV

Temporary glitches or bugs in your Hisense TV can also disturb the software update process. As a recovery plan, you will have to manually restart your Hisense TV as a quick refreshment. If your Hisense TV refuses to update, then proceed with other fixes.

    Power Cycle your Hisense TV

After prolonged usage, your Hisense TV might be overheated. In that case, the device may stop or interrupt the firmware updating process. To fix this, you can try power-cycling your Hisense TV.

    Power Cycle Hisense TV
    • Turn off your Hisense TV first, and then unplug the HDMI cables from your TV’s ports.
    • Next, wait for about 5 to 10 minutes for your TV to cool down.
    • Then, plug in the cable again and turn on your Hisense TV to initiate the updating process again.

Manually Update the Hisense TV Firmware

Hisense TV has an in-built auto-update feature. Sometimes, the problem with the auto-update feature can interfere and bring in issues while updating the software. Instead, you can manually update the firmware of the Hisense TV,

    • Hisense Android TV: Select Settings → Device Preferences → About → System Update → Update Now
    • Hisense Google TV: Click Profile icon → Settings → System Update → About → System Update → Restart Now.
    • Hisense Fire TV: Select Settings → My Fire TV/Device & Software → Check for Updates → Install Update.
    • Hisense Roku TV: Choose Settings → System → System Update → Check Now → Update Now.
    Select Settings on Roku
    • Hisense VIDDAA TV: Select Settings → Click Support → System Update → Check Firmware Upgrade → Upgrade.
    • Hisense XClass(Xumo) TV: This Hisense TV model updates automatically after connecting your device to a stable network connection.

Update Firmware Using USB: As an alternative method, connect a USB drive to the PC to install the software updates. Then, plug the USB into the HDMI ports of the Hisense TV to download the updated firmware without any errors.

    Check for Update Compatibility

If you’re updating your Hisense TV via a USB flash drive, ensure you extracted the correct file from Hisense’s official website. Because there are many versions of firmware updates available on the support website. So, after entering your Hisense TV’s serial number, ensure you inspect the version of the firmware and extract it accordingly.

    Clear Hisense TV Cache

Excessive cache on your Hisense can prevent the device from working properly. At the same time, your Hisense TV won’t update. To resolve this, clear the cache of the Hisense TV once every two weeks.

You can also delete apps on Hisense TV to free up the memory space. This boosts the performance of the TV and can fix the issue as soon as possible.

    Disable VPN

Sometimes, Hisense TV will not update when a VPN is enabled. As the VPN alters you to a different location, it is possible that it can cause a slight fluctuation in the network signals. Since software updates require a very stable WiFi network, you should turn off your VPN on your Hisense TV to check if the issue has been fixed.

    Restart WiFi Router

Usually, connecting your Hisense TV to a good internet connection plays a crucial role in updating the firmware of your device. A slight downfall in the network strength will create a big issue. So, if you face the same, disconnect your TV from WiFi and restart your WiFi router. Then, connect your Hisense TV to the WiFi again and check if the problem is resolved.

Pro Tip! To cross-check the stability of the network signal, you can even perform a speed test.

    Try Wired Connection

Usually, internet issues while updating the Hisense TV’s firmware will mostly occur on a wireless connection. So, it’s better if you establish a wired internet connection to your Hisense TV, which ensures an error-free update. To do this, connect your Hisense TV and WiFi router with an Ethernet cable purchased from Amazon and change the Network settings to Wired.

After a successful connection, you can start updating the firmware of your Hisense Smart TV hassle-free.

    Factory Reset Hisense TV

If the Hisense TV update problem is not fixed even after trying all of the above fixes, it is better to factory reset your Hisense TV. Factory resetting your Hisense TV will clear all of the stored data and bring your TV back to the default settings. This can definitely fix the software update problem on your Hisense Smart TV.

    Hisense TV Customer Support

Contacting Hisense TV customer support is the one last option after trying all of the fixes. So far, the above methods have a high possibility of resolving the software update problems.

However, if the issue persists, reach out to customer support of Hisense TV and deal with professional assistance. There are many possible ways to contact Hisense TV customer service, so fixing it sooner will serve you better.

By following all of these methods, it is possible that your software issues will be fixed. And so, your Hisense TV firmware will be updated to the latest version, letting you enjoy the new features.
