    How to Fix Hisense TV Not Picking Up Channels Problem

    Troubleshooting Techniques to Fix Hisense TV Not Picking Up Channels

    It is a very basic thing to implement the fixes according to the root cause. So, better find the root cause of Hisense TV not picking up channels problem and work accordingly.

    Power Cycle Hisense TV

    If you witness your Hisense TV is not picking up the channels properly, as a primary fix, you have to power cycle your Hisense Smart TV. Sometimes, the temporary bugs on your device have a high possibility of stopping your TV from detecting the channels.

    Power Cycle Hisense TV

    To power cycle your Hisense TV, you have to first turn off your device and remove the cable from the power source. Wait for at least a few minutes, and then connect the cable to a power source. Next, turn on your Hisense TV and check whether your device is able to pick the channels correctly without any errors.

    Adjust the Position of the Antenna

    It is important to position the antenna at a good signal-receiving place because this plays a major role in cable TV and over-the-air channels. So, quickly position the antenna in a place with a better signal strength.

To fix this, you have to update the firmware of the Hisense TV. This update will remove unwanted bugs or glitches and your Hisense TV starts working without error.

    Perform Channel Scan

    After fixing the antenna, you have to perform a channel scan on your Hisense TV to detect and set up your device with multiple channels. If you fail to perform a channel scan, it definitely creates a problem and it is impossible to acquire channels based on your locality.

    The steps below will help you perform the channel rescan and follow them accordingly based on your Hisense TV model.

    • Hisense VIDAA TV: Go to Settings → Channels tab → Auto Scan → Click Next → Done.
    • Hisense Roku TV: Go to home screen → Select Antenna TV on the right → Press * button on Roku remote → Scan for Channels → Select Start finding channels → Follow on-screen instructions → Done.
    • Hisense Google TV: Navigate to Settings → Select Channels & Input → Channels → click Cable/Antenna → Click Auto Program → Hit Yes.
    • Hisense Android TV: Select Settings → Choose Channel → Click on Channels → Hit Channel Scan → Done.
    • Hisense Fire TV: Tap Settings → Click Live TV → Hit Channel Scan → Tap Next → Done.
    • Hisense XClass/Xumo TV: Press Settings → Go to Antenna and Inputs → Select Antenna → Follow the on-screen instructions → Done.

    Replace the Faulty Cables

    Sometimes, improper HDMI cable connection to the ports of the Hisense TV fails to pick up the channels. Further, verify whether the cables are faulty. If that is so, it is time to replace a new optical or coaxial cable and connect it to the ports of the Hisense TV. Then, restart Hisense TV and check if your device can pick up the channels or not.

    Cross-Verify Hisense TV Tuner

    In rare cases, an affected pre-built tuner can also cause this problem on your Hisense TV. So, cross-verify this issue by removing the coaxial cable from your Hisense TV. Then, try connecting the cable to the other TV.

    Now, check whether the current TV picks up the channel. If that works properly, then the problem with your Hisense TV tuner is doubtless. So, replace the tuner with a well-trained technician as soon as possible.
