Oculus Quest 2, a virtual reality headset, can be used for a variety of activities such as gaming, creating avatars, working out, streaming live events, and more. However, if you want to share your amazing VR experience with your homie, then the only way is to cast the Oculus Quest screen onto the Hisense TV. Unfortunately, not all Hisense TV models support the Chromecast feature. So, in this guide, I have detailed the possible ways to cast Oculus Quest 2 to all Hisense TV models.
How to Cast Oculus Quest 2 to Chromecast-Supported Hisense TV
Among the various Hisense TV models, the Hisense TV running on Android, Google, and VIDAA OSs only supports the built-in Chromecast feature. By using this feature, you can cast the Oculus Quest on your TV and stream your friends or family’s gameplay on the big screen. There are two different methods by which you can cast your activities on TV using Oculus Quest, and below is a brief explanation of them.
Using the Oculus Quest 2 Headset
The Oculus Quest 2 device has a dedicated button called the Oculus, through which you can directly cast the content to your Hisense TV from the headset.
- Power on your Hisense TV and the Oculus Quest 2 Headset. Then, connect both devices to the same WiFi network.
- Press the Oculus button (White button) on the controller and get the Home Menu.
- From there, choose the Share option and tap on Cast.
- Now, you will be listed with the nearby active devices. Pick your Hisense TV name and hit the Next option to proceed with the process.
Using the Meta Horizon Mobile App
Alternatively, you can also use the Meta Horizon app and cast the VR headset content to your Hisense Smart TV. To do so,
- Get your smartphone and install the Meta Horizon app from the Play Store/App Store.
- Open the Meta Horizon app and sign in with your Oculus account credentials.
- Then, connect your Oculus Quest 2 and Hisense TV to the same WiFi network.
- Then, you need to click the Cast icon at the top of the app’s interface and then choose your Hisense TV.
- Once done, a notification will appear on your headset confirming the casting process of your gameplay on the TV.
If you want to stop the casting process, navigate to the Home Menu → Share → Stop Casting.
Tip! The above methods can be implemented on any Hisense Smart TV using a Chromecast device. If you don’t have the device, then purchase a new Chromecast device from Amazon and connect it to your TV’s HDMI port. Then, change the input on Hisense TV and start casting the Oculus Quest screen.
How to Cast Oculus Quest 2 to Chromecast-UnSupported Hisense TV
Besides using the Chromecast feature, you can effortlessly screen mirror the required content from your smartphone to the Hisense TV. This process can be achieved via the Meta Horizon app.
- Visit the respective App Stores on your smartphone and get the Meta Horizon app.
- Make the necessary login process and enter it into the app’s home screen.
- Now, navigate to the Notification Panel on your Android phone and hit the Cast icon. Otherwise, visit the Control Center on your iPhone and click the Screen Mirroring option.
- Get the nearby device list and select your Hisense Smart TV name.
- Finally, stream the Oculus Quest 2 content on the big screen.
