Solutions to Fix the Hisense TV Keeps Turning Off Issue

Below are the possible techniques to fix the Hisense TV that keeps shutting off. Follow them chronologically and get better results.

    Inspect the Power Source

If your Hisense Smart TV keeps turning on and off, examine the power supply first. Every electronic device, including smart TVs, is dependent on an external power source. So, ensure your Hisense TV is receiving a standard supply of current.

If the power cable is damaged, it will not receive a steady power supply, and your Hisense TV won’t turn on. However, you must change the damaged power cables to a new one to fix the issue.

    Change the damaged power cables

In rare cases, you might hurry to connect the cables loosely to the TV. This will also turn off your Hisense TV. So, ensure a constant power supply so the TV won’t turn off again.

Tip! A faulty power supply is one of the main reasons for a Hisense TV with a black screen.

    Restart the Hisense TV

Aside from the problem with the power cables and socket problem, corrupted temporary data may cause the issue. So, you must restart your Hisense TV to clear all the unwanted caches or junk files that are accumulated in the software. Follow the procedure below and carefully perform the soft reset process to get your TV out of power-related issues.

    • While your TV is turned off, detach the power cables from the power socket.
Unplug the power cable from the power socket
    • Hold on for about a minute and plug the power cables back into the power socket.
    • Now, turn on your Hisense TV and check if the issue gets fixed.

Still holding on to the same issue? Then, you can move to the next fix.

    Turn Off Energy Saving Mode

Most of the Hisense TVs are built with the Energy Saving feature. If you activate this mode, your Hisense TV will consume less electricity by auto-adjusting the brightness level. Eventually, if your Hisense TV becomes idle for some time, this mode will force the TV to run in standby mode. So, you may worry that your TV has been turned off for no reason. Disable the energy-saving mode on Hisense TV to prevent it from turning off automatically.

    Disable the Sleep Timer

Like the energy-saving mode, the sleep timer is also one of the factors that will automatically turn off your TV screen after a certain period of inactivity. Sometimes, you might have set the sleep timer on your smart TV to shut down the screen and fall asleep, especially at night. In such instances, the sleep timer on your Hisense TV should be disabled as it is a profitable way to eliminate the issue.

Once you have changed the sleep timer setting, check if your TV still turns off automatically. If so, try the next troubleshooting technique.

    Check for OverHeating

If your Hisense Smart TV is turned on for a long period or there are any issues with the power supply, it will cause the TV to overheat and turn off at a certain point. To check whether your TV is overheated or not, touch the back side of your TV and note the temperature. If the TV is overheated, the parts inside can be damaged, or blockages may occur in the Hisense TV’s ventilation system.

To cool down the heat, make sure to turn off the TV and leave it undisturbed for a long time. Also, you need to clean your Hisense TV at regular intervals to clear the dust and debris on its internal parts.

    Disable the HDMI-CEC Feature

HDMI-CEC is a two-way connection between your TV and the connected external devices, including gaming consoles, set-top boxes, etc. Here, the problem is if you don’t switch inputs on your Hisense TV and control the external media player with its remote, there might be a chance to turn off your smart TV automatically.

Remove the cables from your Hisense TV

So, unplug all the external cables temporarily and also disable the HDMI-CEC option on your respective Hisense TVs to prevent this issue.

    Update the Hisense Firmware

Only regular updates ensure your TV works properly. The presence of some minor bugs in your Hisense TV software will also cause this issue. These bugs can be removed only by updating the Hisense TV firmware to its available version.

    Factory Reset Hisense TV

This is probably one of the last fixes to bring back your TV from the turning-off issue. Factory resetting a Hisense TV is one of the serious fixes that should be tried as your last option. This will eventually delete all the stored data, files, apps, and customized settings from your TV. But remember, taking your TV to its default settings is one of the most powerful and trustworthy processes that will keep the TV from turning off.

Reach Out to the Hisense Support Team

If you can’t figure out the exact cause of the problem, wasting your time is not appreciated. So, connect with Hisense customer service immediately and contact them for technical support. If there is any damage in the TV’s firmware and still your Hisense TV is under warranty, you can repair the TV at no cost.

Once you get your Hisense TV out from the turning-off issue, you can seamlessly stream your favorite content without any disturbance.
