Possible Fixes for Hisense TV Flickering

Follow the guide below, go through the elaborated fixes chronologically, and fix the issue within a few minutes.

    Power Cycle Hisense TV

The occurrence of any software bug on your TV is one of the major reasons for the Hisense TV glitching or flickering issue. Due to this, your Hisense TV will overheat and might flicker. This can be fixed by simply restarting Hisense TV, as this will refresh the TV’s software and will help you get rid of the temporary glitches. Usually, you can power cycle your TV by,

    1. Turn off your Hisense TV by pressing the Power button on the remote or the TV.
    2. Remove the power cables from the wall socket and hold for a minute.
    3. Now, the excess power will be drained out from your smart TV.
    4. After that, plug back the power cables and turn on your Hisense TV.
Plug the power cables into the power socket

Finally, after restarting your Hisense TV, you should check whether your TV is free from flickering or blinking.

    Check the HDMI Cables

If restarting doesn’t fix the issue, you need to check whether the culprit is HDMI cables. There are three ways to detect the HDMI cable issue, and here are some ways to do it.

Check the HDMI cable connected to your Hisense TV
    1. Faulty HDMI cable: Sometimes, the HDMI cables connected to your TV might be damaged. In this case, you need to replace the cables with new ones.
    2. HDMI cables connected loosely: Ensure that the cables are connected properly to the TV without any loose contact. If you find it, remove the cables and plug them back properly into the suitable port.
    3. Damaged HDMI port: In rare cases, the HDMI ports on your TV will be damaged, which will also cause the TV to flicker at times. So, remove the HDMI cable and plug it into another HDMI port.

Once you’re done with all these conditions, your TV should work properly without flickering the TV on and off. Parallely, you can also check for external interfaces (devices that emit electromagnetic waves). Still, if you face the same issue, then march forward toward the next solution.

    Check the Signal Strength

If your Hisense TV flickers while watching live TV channels, the problem may be with your antenna. You can check whether the signal strength is adequate for uninterrupted streaming. If the signal strength is poor, contact your cable or satellite TV provider for further assistance. If there is no problem with the signal strength, try the next fix.

Reset the Hisense TV Picture Settings

Another possibility for the flickering/flashing issue may be a change in your Hisense TV picture settings. Every Hisense Smart TV has the option to configure the picture settings manually via the TV Settings. This allows you to change the picture mode, contrast, brightness, refresh rate, and sharpness on your Hisense TV.

Reset the Hisense TV Picture Settings

Once you revert the picture settings to their default one, check if your TV stops flickering. If not, skip to the next troubleshooting method.

    Turn Off Energy Saving Mode

If the energy-saving mode is turned on, the flickering screen might occur. Therefore, it is advised to disable the Hisense TV energy-saving feature. Enabling this mode will consume less electricity and will deliver the images with a low brightness level. In certain instances, a TV with less brightness will cause a flicker and thus raise the Hisense TV flickering issue.

    Update the Hisense TV Firmware

It is mandatory to use the Hisense Smart TV with its latest firmware to avoid several problems, including flickering. If your device is outdated, updating Hisense TV firmware will make a change by fixing minor bugs and technical issues on the TV.

    Factory Reset Hisense TV

Factory resetting Hisense TV should be one of the last processes because it will delete all the custom settings and content stored on your TV. Even though this process doubles your work, your TV will definitely get rid of the flickering problem once you return it to its default settings.

Reach Out to Hisense Customer Support

If the above-mentioned troubleshooting methods didn’t help your TV resolve the issue, then it’s time to contact Hisense customer support for aid. If your TV has any hardware issues, only technicians can assist you correctly. To be on the safer side, once check the warranty of your Hisense TV to get a free service.
